The Texas Deanery of C4SO under the leadership of the Very Rev. Canon David Roseberry celebrated their life together during three back-to-back events in late January of this year. On Thursday, January 23, some 23 Deanery members participated in the Missionary God/Missional Church Conference at Redeemer Seminary, Dallas Campus. The Conference represented a central aspect of the mission of Redeemer Seminary—to be a place where men and women gather from different traditions to be unified in Christ’s mission for the world. Speakers included our own Bishop Todd Hunter as well as Dr. Sinclair Ferguson, Dr. Tim Keller, and Pastor Bruce Wesley. (Watch Bishop Hunter’s talk from the conference below)

Bishop Hunter ordained the Rev. Brian Pape to the diaconate on Friday, January 24 at Restoration Anglican, Addison, where he serves as assistant alongside Senior Pastor Jed Roseberry. Finally, on Saturday, January 25, the Rev. Porter C. Taylor, Bishop’s Deputy, led a discernment retreat for those considering ordination. Entitled “What is Holy Orders and Are You Called?” the retreat focused on vocation, the nature of Holy Orders, and the ordination process of C4SO. Twenty-five prospective candidates attended along with five clergy, demonstrating a sense of momentum in the Deanery and Diocese.
