New Churches
Fully-Equipped New Leaders

Here at the Diocese of Churches for the Sake of Others, we are passionate about church planting. In fact, the very purpose of our diocese is to plant congregations and communities of faith that will announce, embody and demonstrate this new life through the establishment of a network of churches—whose chief job, then, is to evangelize people and disciple them toward this new life in Christ. As a missionary diocese, we are willing to innovate, to take risks, to overlook peripheral issues, and to ignore proprietary interests to plant churches to reach people with the gospel.

Thanks to God’s work in our midst, we have grown significantly in the past three years. We know that we need more efficient processes and structures, more intentional care for our clergy, and many more ways to give of ourselves to the Anglican Church in North America and beyond. We have much to contribute—a unique church planting ethos, a mission-facing orientation and a risk-tolerant culture, to name only a few.

So with open hands, we have developed a 10-Year Strategic Vision to ensure the next decade is fruitful and God-honoring, and a plan to help us accomplish specific goals.

Our goals are to plant 100 churches in the next 10 years, and recruit, train and develop 200 future leaders / church planters for C4SO and the Anglican Church in North America.

As we grow and our numbers increase, the need for leadership and support will increase as well. We may need to create new dioceses that will, in turn, plant new churches.


We have chosen these goals not because they make a good marketing slogan, but because we truly believe new churches and dioceses will help others find a God-saved life—and will ultimately serve the Church at large. Significant numbers of young men and women are being drawn to an expression of faith with historic roots incorporating liturgical worship, which positions North American Anglicanism as particularly appealing.

We are also intentionally raising up and equipping new church planters, and focusing resources on this demanding and crucial work. It is so important to us to make church planters’ experience with C4SO even better by providing the things they need. As we move forward, we will be finding better ways to support, resource, train and coach planters and leaders. We will find ways to increase connectivity among our clergy. We will be giving back even more generously to our planters.

C4SO will not do any of this alone or for our own glory—we will collaborate with the province, other dioceses, denominations and ministries for the sake of others. We are doing it with no proprietary interest at stake.


C4SO’s 10-year goals will require building new infrastructure and systems at the ground level of C4SO. To best serve ACNA and the world, we must be healthy and functioning at a level of organizational excellence. In 2016 and 2017, we are focusing on:

  • Developing Strong Clericus/Clergy Connections
  • Beginning to Raise Support
  • Establishing Central Hub in Dallas
  • Maximizing Communications
  • Establishing Leader/Planter Training

As our foundation grows ever stronger, we will pursue our goals through a network of relationships and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

A Robust Leadership Team

At the helm of our Strategic Vision is Bishop Todd Hunter, with our team of six deans at his side helping to care for and lead each of C4SO’s geographically-dispersed regions. As always, their functions are facilitated by an executive leadership team and a seasoned communications team. To creatively flesh out the Strategic Vision, two new leaders joined the team in 2016.

Thirty years ago The Very Rev. Canon David Roseberry planted Christ Church Plano in Plano, Texas, and, with the help of those who mentored him along the way, built it into a strong, stable and sustainable organization. He is now transitioning leadership for Christ Church Plano and has joined C4SO as Dean of the Diocese, helping us build our future together. He works with Bishop Todd Hunter on diocesan strategy, key efforts in the raising up and equipping of new leaders, as well as handling fundraising and stewardship for the sake of mission.  He will also continue in his role as the ACNA’s Provincial Canon for Mission.

The Rev. Canon Kimberley Talbot Pfeiler left a career as a seasoned marketing executive to serve as Bishop Todd Hunter’s Canon to the Ordinary. She brings 10 years in church leadership, both as a lay person and then as ordained clergy. Kimberley is planting a new office in Plano, Texas, where she will serve as COO to the Bishop, managing Finance, Communications and Human Resources.  Her first areas of focus in 2016 are organizational health and alignment, the ordination process, and stronger resources and communications for planters.

Pray for these two exceptional new leaders, as well as the rest of C4SO’s team, as they build sound and scalable infrastructures to enable us to do the work of planting churches.

A Stronger Passion for Mission

Rest assured: These new structures will promote the flourishing of the ethos that we know and love. We will continue to be a unique diocese. We are unencumbered by geography. We have the freedom to launch new work in regional hubs or unique circumstances. And for us, church planting will always be normative, not exceptional.

If you are already part of our diocese, share our goals with your friends, and if you are not, we invite you to join us as we work together to engage our culture and establish new missional faith communities that will in turn “go and do likewise.” Planting new Kingdom faith communities is a high calling and demanding, but it reaps a powerful harvest of transformed lives. Through God’s power, we urge you to live out His call on your life—whether it’s to plant a church or receive training to become a future leader or church planter. Together, we can answer this call to plant 100 new churches and raise up 200 new leaders in the next 10 years.
